Krystal's distinctive style is a unique balance of fine art, documentary and timeless portraiture. She has a trained artist's eye for beauty and composition with a finely-honed talent for creating stunning portraits while capturing the true emotion and beauty of the day. She uses both medium format film and digital cameras for weddings and has been photographing weddings since 2007. Currently, she has shot over 400 weddings. Krystal is a graduate of the University of Montana’s Fine Art Department where she received a BFA in Fine Art specializing in photography and a minor Media Arts focusing in digital film making. She is a Southern Weddings Blue Ribbon Vendor. Her studio is located at The Parlour at Manns Chapel in Chapel Hill. Her recent published work has been featured in Style Me Pretty, The New York Times, Southern Bride, The Knot, Chapel Hill Magazine, Nashville Life Styles, Carolina Weddings and Weddings Unveiled. She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband Maximilian Kast and their daughter, Saskia. Maximilian is an Advanced Sommelier and the South East regional sales manager for a wine importing company, which imports wines from all over the world.
